Making the Best of Things

This morning, the kitten was playing with a pinecone. Is it because he doesn't have enough toys of his own? Hardly. The house is littered with them. However, his favorites were (most likely) under a cabinet, oven, and/or island. It would have required bending on my part and beinding is hard.

That didn't stop him from having fun. He went out to the front yard, found a perfectly good pine cone, and brought it inside.
Things don't often go our way. What we want may be elusive. We can pout and not enjoy life, or we can adapt.

Adapting is good. Sometimes what we want isn't good for us, even if we think it is. God protects us by not giving us everything we need. But, He does give us good things, not anything that is intended for our harm.

"When life gives you lemons, make lemonade." "When there's no toy around, make do with a pinecone."

That slogan will be on a bumper sticker near you soon.
